Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best known for her film roles on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the TV show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch school of the arts, New York University she obtained an MFA. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in film, theater, and TV. She started her career as an actor in theater but then proceeded to appear in many television shows, both mainstream and independent films. She gained fame for playing Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico. In the following year, she made an appearance in BET's epic TV series The Book of Negroes. In 1995 she debuted in the role of Ariel on stage as Ariel in The Tempest. In addition to the Broadway production Come and Gone, she has also been featured in Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In her film career her most well-known roles are parts like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. In her television work, she has been praised for her role as a regular character on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
