
Teri Hatcher was born Teri Lynn Hatcher on December 8, 1964, in Palo Alto California. Her mother, Esther, was a computer programmer at Lockheed Martin, and her father, Owen, was an electrical engineer as well as a nuclear physicist. Teri was born in Sunnyvale and studied ballet at the San Juan School of Dance. Fremont High School was where she was the Featherettes the dance captain. She also was awarded the "Most likely to be the Solid Gold Dancer" award. After graduating Hatcher studied engineering and mathematics at De Anza College and took acting classes at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri revealed that she had endured sexual abuse by her uncle Richard Hayes Stone, starting at the age of 5. she helped Santa Clara County prosecutors with their case against him after the victim, who was 14 years old, of Stone's committed suicide. Stone was sentenced to prison for four charges of of pleading in guilty pleas to molestation. While in prison, he passed away from colon cancer.
